With over 20 years of experience as a senior journalist and editor both in newsrooms and as a foreign correspondent for the Times, Robin is today a strategic communications consultant who advises organisations on a range of social, business and political challenges. He has a particular interest in technology, innovation and energy.
Before joining Kekst CNC in 2021, Robin worked as a senior editor and columnist for the Telegraph and the Times. He led teams of journalists reporting on big international news stories and helped shape the agenda in daily news conference. With an insider’s perspective, Robin offers valuable insights into the inner workings of the international media and news industry.
Robin spent five years as South Asia bureau chief for The Times, based in Mumbai, India but while reporting widely from across the region including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Burma and Indonesia. He has covered conflicts and elections in multiple regions, civil and natural disasters such as the Rana Plaza collapse and the Nepal Earthquake of 2015. He has also reported from the Middle East including Iraq, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, the US and Brazil.
During a distinguished career in journalism, he also interviewed world leaders including Mikhail Gorbachev, Imran Khan, Sheikh Hasina, Boris Johnson as well as the CEOs of some of its largest companies, including Sundar Pichai of Google, Andy Jassy of Amazon and Brad Smith of Microsoft.
He holds an MA in History from the University of Edinburgh and lives in London with his family.
