While at university, Ali compiled a diverse range of work experience, including internships for a Member of Parliament, a specialist advisory tracking Chinese foreign transactions and a pan-Asian think tank headquartered in Hong Kong. He studied International Politics at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, graduating with Latin Honours, also receiving a Minor in Chinese and Certificate in Asian Studies - he is proficient in Mandarin.
Ali also represents Jordan's national rugby team, runs his podcast titled "Taha Talks" and advises his father, who is a co-owner of Southend United Football Club. When not at work, Ali is most likely to be found at Roots Hall, Southend's football ground, supporting the Shrimpers!
