He was Editor-in-chief of Bavarian Television (BR) for more than 20 years.
He was Editor-in-chief of Bavarian Television (BR) for more than 20 years.
From 1988 to 1991, he was vice-chief editor and presenter of the ZDF Heute-Journal news programme.
He is an Honorary professor at Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule, Regensburg; Member of the University Council of the University of Passau; and Member of the board of trustees of the Ifo Institute for Economic Research.
